6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use a few cookies and similar browser storage to run this website and to understand how visitors use it. We do not use advertising cookies. If we add other tools, we will update this section.
- Analytics (Microsoft Clarity). On our public pages, Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use the site: pages viewed, clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, which we see as heatmaps and session replays. It sets cookies that can last up to one year. Clarity does not run on our client portal, sign-up and signing, document upload or login pages. Microsoft's privacy statement explains how Microsoft handles this data.
- Google. Our contact page shows a Google map, so Google receives your browser's IP address when the map loads. Google's privacy policy explains how Google handles this data.
- Essential. When you open a document-upload link we emailed you, we set one cookie that keeps the link working for up to 12 hours.
- Browser storage. If you sign in to the client portal, your browser keeps you signed in, keeps your portal chat, and remembers your email address if you ask it to. While you look up a property, your browser keeps a visit number for it until you close the tab. When you sign up, the list of pages you visited on our site, and the time on each, is sent to us with your sign-up.
- Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without the analytics cookies; a document-upload link needs its one essential cookie.
7. Data Security and Retention
Security Measures
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. However, no system or transmission of data is completely secure.
Retention Period
We keep client records for 7 years after your matter closes, unless the law requires longer.
Data Destruction
When we no longer need records, we:
- Shred physical documents
- Permanently delete or de-identify electronic records

If a data breach affects your personal information, we will:
- Notify affected individuals as required by the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
- Provide details about the breach and protective steps you can take.
- Notify authorities, including the Illinois Attorney General, when required by law.
