Do I have to wait for my scheduled reassessment year to file a property tax appeal?

No. Although the Assessor uses a three-year cycle, you can usually appeal every year—once with the Assessor and once with the Board of Review. The Assessor's window runs several weeks (42 to 47 days in 2026); the Board of Review's about 30 days. For a home, a reduction usually stays in place for the rest of your township's three-year reassessment cycle. The county can change it in a later year, so we review your assessment each year.
